Well folks…the 2019 benefit show was a huge success!

First and foremost, we raised over $1,300 to go toward helping put guitars into the hands of at-risk adolescents. This money was primarily the take at the door (remember, the bands donated their time). We also collected a handful of donations on and around the event.

The benefit show is just as much an awareness event as it is a fundraising one. We had some incredible coverage from Columbus Alive and Columbus Navigator, which helps bring attention to our mission. It helps build our volunteer base, our fundraising pipeline, and our connections with local programs.

Thank you to both of those publications and for all of our friends who shared, promoted, and attended the event.

The event was also an opportunity to meet and start conversations with new potential partner organizations. The Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence and School of Rock Gahanna were both in attendance, and we look forward to continuing discussions about how to work together.

We’d definitely like to thank Randy Malloy and Michael Goff at CD102.5/Big Room Bar and John Rausch from Bravo Artist for their support. For the second year in a row they helped us make this an awesome event and we look forward to making it a third next year.

And, of course thanks to all of the bands. They donated their time to make this event possible and to give everyone a good show.

Stay tuned for updates about where we are taking the program over the next 6 months.
